Axalta Coating Systems Receives Caterpillar Approval for AquaEC™ 6100 for the Construction and Earthmoving Markets
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Axalta Coating Systems (NYSE:AXTA), a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, is pleased to announce that Caterpillar, the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives, has approved the use of United States made Axalta AquaEC™ 6100 electrocoat coatings covering two approved materials EK2160/629-2161 and 4023-2161 on its equipment.
Axalta has a rich history of developing and supplying a wide range of coating systems for use on agriculture and construction equipment, including electrocoat as well as other liquid spray and powder coatings. The AquaEC range of electrocoat primers use patented epoxy-based technology to provide superior corrosion resistance with excellent throw power and improved edge protection. The tin-free technology used in AquaEC 6100, now available globally, also helps meet environmental goals.
